To take an escape from the hectic work schedule, work duties, home chores, mundane routine and to rejuvenate your mind and soul, we all need a getaway to a place where we can feel relaxed and be at leisure. Today, we are taking a daughter’s perspective about their vacation idea for a perfect foray, which is, not going to any abroad trip, hill station or beach getaway, but rather she chooses to visit her mother’s home for the best break free to escape the reality, feel free and to be loved by all in the family.

You cannot feel a difference when you come back to the house, as each home has its aura and fragrance of love and happiness. With nostalgic spirits and remembering the old times cherished in that house is altogether a different experience, where everyone fulfills your wish without saying NO to you. If you can relate to the sensitivity of a girl that visiting mother’s abode feels like reliving those good old golden days of life.

Everyone in the family plays a different role in a girl’s life. Grandparents will teach you their words of wisdom. Listening to their old-time stories and especially ‘partition’ ones are the favorites. They will buy you anything from candy floss to Kulfi, and clothing to accessories. Moreover, Parents will treat you like a queen. It feels like being in heaven when you are pampered like a doll. The siblings would treat you like friends. Whether younger or older, the equation is different. There are fights, outings, experienced advice, shopping together, helping and looking out for each other in school, college and life. If you have a joint-family, then there are so many people to love you and treat you like their own child. Lots of outings and get together happens which makes family intact forever like a team.

Waking up early and late-night talks are ‘sine qua non’. What a relief, it is to be at the mother’s place where you can take enough sleep. There is no need for an alarm to wake up early for the next day’s routine, and the best part is, you can take a nap anytime. When talking about late-night gossip sessions which are fun and full of laughter. Everyone shares their fable of success, biggest embarrassment, old traditions, music and then there are endless discussions on travel. Late-night drives are so much thrilling finishing it up with ice cream. There is so much peace when there is no one on the roads, just you and your emotions. At these corona times, late-night cycling and walk give an amazing feeling too.

Shopping with mom, sisters and sisters in law. Before coming to the home, a shopping list is always ready. Sisters and sisters in law will accompany you for valuable opinions. A day out with them is amusing and exuberant where they share all the innermost thoughts and feelings about relationships and also about whatever they have experienced in their married life till now is very touching and heartfelt. Adding to this, shopping with mother is the most needed and genuine day out as the mother will always be honest about whatever you buy and she will always talk in your benefit. The mother keeps her heritage saved for her daughter such as, her heirlooms and saree is for her daughter’s future at the time of her marriage or grandchildren.

Relishing the food prepared by mom and enjoying the food of your favorite restaurants and street food joints. Coming back to the city, you grew in is an amazing feeling. Also, if you are a foodie. There is no chance, you will not miss a single day without eating the popular food dishes you like, such as buntikki, GolGappa, cholebhature, peri-peri fries, honey-chile potato, pasta, tandoori momos, afghani chaap, dosa, and much more. But nothing can beat the incomparable food that is prepared by the mother such as, Ghar ki dal Makhani, Kadai paneer, dal chawal, Rajma chawal, chole Poori, and much more which are finger-licking dishes made with so much love leaves you full and satisfied. The taste of a mother’s hand is unforgettable. Wherever we go, we always remember the food and pickles made by mother’s hand.

Getting some Me-time. Where you can unplug from all the gadgets and indulge in the favorite activities you love such as painting, going through old albums, listening to music, cleaning the cupboards, checking souvenirs collection, trying old clothes, going through the books, cleaning Puja room, sitting in a quiet place with a book, soaking up in the sun, pampering your hands and feet, distancing from all the people for some time, going out for window shopping, sitting in café for ice tea, all this can only be done at mom’s place to refresh yourself and go back to your normal life with more energy and enthusiasm.

Meeting best friends. The best part when you visit mom’s place is you get to meet your #BFF’S. Meeting friends revive all the positive energy in you. With them, it’s like starting from where you left. When friends meet there is lots of sharing to do. Eating and hanging out is the main thing. You can do all the things with your friends you ever wanted to do. Recreating and reliving old memories with your best friends is the highlight of the meet. A night out with a friend is the perfect plan to chat over coffee and snacks, share and laugh over instances related to school and college life.

To conclude, a lady of the house can either make a home or destroy it with selfishness, greed, ego and jealousy. But, if the lady of the house is filled with love and selflessness and is pure in her intentions and service. Everyone in the family is happy too. A mother is that symbol of unconditional love and purity. Mother has deep connections with her children and no one can take care of them as she does. Mothers are emotional support to their daughters with her you can share anything from problems to all the joys of life. If you can connect through this bond of daughter and mother, do share your thoughts if your all-time go-to place is your mother’s home.

Always Love and Respect your Mother!
